This is the sand that refuses to wash out from pockets and sneakers even after a month – that is the side effect of fooling and wallowing in the beautiful Piusa sand mine. Wonderful scene for photos! I had completely forgotten how exciting it was to run around there and butt-slide down the sand walls.
The mine and the caves were used as source for glass sand after the quality sand was discovered in 1920. The location is about an hour drive from Tartu (satellite photo of the Piusa mine).
